Support Request: Opening File Manager from Word

Description

Hi,

Would it be possible to have Site Kiosk's file manager open as default when saving from MS Word, we use Site Kiosk logged in as a specific domain user account so that some of our other applications can function correctly, I have read in a post from 2010 that you must be logged into Site Kiosk using the default Site Kiosk user but wondered it that has changed in recent version?

Thanks

Hello,

SiteKiosk has no direct influence to external applications and cannot replace the “save as…” dialog of Word (or any other application).

Furthermore dialogs like “Save as…” or “Open” are only allowed by default in “Auto Start” mode with the restricted SiteKiosk user account for security reasons.
(The SiteKiosk user has limited access to the hard drive(s) via NTFS access rights set by the System-Security-Manager)

But in case you need to allow the “Save as…” and/or “Open” dialog when using another Windows user account you can edit the Windows & Dialogs settings in the SiteKiosk configuration at “-->Access/Security-->Block system critical windows & dialog boxes-->Settings”

Also note that when not using the SiteKiosk user account you need to manage all access rights of that Windows user yourselves.
