Support Request: Re-install for new PC

Description

Hi,

We bought a bundle of SiteKiosk Plus version 8 licenses in 2015. Total 73 units.

Recently we upgraded the PC from Win 7 to Win 10 partially. Some of the PCs are too old so we change to new PC. After that we re-install the SiteKiosk version 8 into the new PC. However, some of the PCs (about 10+ units) are having issue and it prompts error message as "Unregistered copy".

Could you kindly advise what could we do in order to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
WL

If it says Unregistered copy and you did not reregister SiteKiosk, then you would need to use your license key and name to register the machine. Have you registered the machines and still getting the error? Please note that Windows 10 support started with SiteKiosk 9 and higher.

Yes, we registered the machine with the license key and still getting error. The strange thing & issue here are not all the machines are having this issue. Some are working fine after we re-installed the software but some were showing this error message.

Is it because of we re-install the SiteKiosk on new PC? But we have uninstall it from the old PC and format the station. So it shouldn't be counted as one of the stations that using the bundle license.

Double check to see that you are not using either the same license code for the same machines. Of the 10+ units you said were showing unregistered, when you put the registration key in does it accept it and then become unregistered? Or does it not accept the key at all?

Both of the situations also have. Most of the stations accept it and then become unregistered later. After this situation happened, then the following stations do not accept the key at all.

Kindly advise: how is the bundle licenses being counted or tracked? go by PC, PC name or Mac address? we might overuse the license key after re-count the stations. But then in this situation, how could we resolve the issue happened on this 10+ machines?

You may need to speak to one of our sales representatives about this licensing issue if you have machines registered that are inaccessible. Typically once a machine is unregistered, that license should be available. If it is still registered but not functional, that may be the issue for you.
