Support Request: Tablet mode with siteKiosk

Description

Hi,

We use siteKiosk with the following setup :
- It is installed on an Ideum multi-touch table;
- The table runs on Windows 10;
- We have installed siteKiosk and we are using the "Start Screen" mode;
- We use the SiteKiosk Restricted User Account with Auto start.

With this setup, we would like to be able to swipe from the left margin to the center of the screen to show the different windows opened during use to allow us to get back to the start screen or close windows in the background. You know, just like the tablet mode allow us to do in Windows 10.

The thing is we have some applications that open in fullscreen and don't have a closing button or an exit "x" in the upper right corner to allow us to get back to the start screen.

Is there an option in the "System Security Manager" of siteKiosk to allow us to swipe from the left margin to the center of the screen to show the different windows opened during use?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. The swipe gesture mentioned is not possible when using SiteKiosk and is not related to the System Security Manager wizard. This feature depends on the Windows shell / explorer.exe, which is blocked by SiteKiosk for security reasons (even in Start Once mode). Without this restriction, SiteKiosk's protection would be useless in many areas. Therefore, this restriction should not be switched off.

Alternatively, you can use the keyboard. We tested successfully with both the hardware and the on-screen keyboard. You will need to allow the key combination "Alt+Tab" in the security settings (>Basic>Access/Security>Block system critical key combinations>Settings), to switch between applications.

Best regards,
Andre.
