Customer Information Terminal
Packaging is subject to rigorous standardization and certification and required by law to provide a specific set of information. In many cases, however, the extent of this information is not sufficient to satisfy the customer's needs.
Information on pricing is, for the most part, the type of information about which customers inquire most frequently. Kiosk systems are also used as advertising displays and can provide details on a product’s origin, processing and product variations.
Which pan is the right one, which motor oil is best for my vehicle, and which care products are the right choice for me? The highly personalized information customers have come to expect from their inquiries can no longer be achieved by the small number of employees to which store staff is commonly reduced to today.
The decision as to whether dedicated self-service machines are the best choice or if the sales process should be supported by a sales consultant needs to be made in each individual case.
Today, the classic "bulletin board" is enjoying a second coming in digital form. The digital incarnation of this vintage vehicle of information offers a quick and easy way to provide production information in a central location. Its digital nature allows for an efficient exchange of up-to-the-minute information that cannot be achieved by any other means.
Digital Signage in supermarket chains in Mexico
Nexxis SA is a digital signage and software company based in Mexico City. The company has developed a digital display network for supermarket chains (Chedraui, Soriana and Comercial Mexicana) in Mexico that helps influence what and when consumers will buy at the point of purchase.
Nexxis worked with PROVISIO to deploy SiteKiosk display units in supermarket aisles throughout Mexico, promoting a variety of products. The 10-and 22-inch interactive displays are managed using PROVISIO’s SiteRemote remote management portal which publishes several multi media campaigns to those devices throughout the day.
“From a customer support perspective as well as the capabilities and the availability in Mexico, SiteKiosk and SiteRemote are much more advanced than other software,” Nexxis spokesman Rodrigo Villagomez said. “And the biggest factor in our decision to go with them is that the company is focused on business development, so our negotiations with them are always focused on the future.”
The benefits of promoting products via the SiteKiosk solution were readily apparent. In the supermarkets where screens promoted Nestlé products, sales of the promoted items were 25 percent higher than in supermarkets with no screens. “We are doing what all brands want to do: provide a better shopping experience,” Villagomez said.
