Support Request: Unable to open PDF files in full browser mode

Reproduction

load .html using full browser mode.

in the .html file, have a <a href> link that opens a PDF file using file:// protocol.

the PDF does not open.

the app is configured to open PDF using internal PDF viewer.

Description

We are loading a .html file via full browser mode on Site Kiosk Android on a Samsung Tablet.

On the HTML page, there are links to file://sample.pdf, but when tapping on this link on the HTML page, nothing happens.

We've configured the settings to try allowing internal opening of PDF, and also installed Adobe Reader and allowed it to run under approved apps, but turning on one / both does not work.

Does your local page work outside of SiteKiosk in the default browser on your Android device? Did you allow downloads in the SiteKiosk Android configuration?

Notes about using SiteKiosk Android on Samsung tablet devices:

Yes the pages and PDF links work on the browsers if I do not load it within SiteKiosk.

I've allowed downloads on SiteKiosk, allowed all content, allowed apps to run, and also tried to allow internal PDF program (tested both on and off).

None of the setting changes work.

You can send the pdf and local html file you are using to ward(at)provisio.com for testing. Please also note the path were you saved these files. Include the URL to this support forum article with your mail.
