Advanced Settings

The advanced settings are primarily used to manipulate the way information is displayed to the user in the SiteKiosk browser on the terminal.

1. Visualization
The primary purpose of these advanced settings is to adjust the display of the information users can view in the SiteKiosk browser on the terminal they are using. If a translation is available, the respective information can also be displayed in the national language the user selects.
1.1 Display of available credit and remaining time
A general distinction has to made between available credit and remaining time. If you are dealing with devices that can handle money, e.g. coin acceptors, bill readers, etc., the displayed information should at least include the available credit. Activation solutions (terminal will be unlocked for 20 minutes) should probably also include the remaining time.

Credit - if you want to show the user how much available credit she has left.
Remaining time - if you want to indicate the remaining time to the user.

Use the time format option to adjust the display of the remaining time.

Click on the option Show zone name and rate in status bar, the status bar will always provide information on the currently applied rate and the name of the current rate zone you set up previously.
1.2 Progress indicator
If this option is selected, you can also enable a graphical progress bar in order to display the the status of your surfing time. The progress bar of the Metro IE skin cannot be switched off.
1.3 Notification of low surfing time
This dialog box will pop up when the surfing time is about to expire to prompt the user to add more credit. You can use this option to set the time in seconds when the display of the remaining time is supposed to be displayed.

Note:
If using DirectX games, you may experience that this dialog box is not displayed properly.
1.4 Changing texts and names
The stringtable.xml file contains links to all language files that are supported by a particular skin. The file usually contains a link to an additional .xml file that contains the texts relevant for the selected language. You can adjust these texts at any time and not just when you are creating your own skin.
You can modify the strings contained in this linked file and adjust them to the languages you need. The following string entries taken from the english.xml file refer to the display of the available credit and remaining time in the status bar:

< !-- SiteKiosk Specific! -->
<string id='2500'>{0} minutes<string/>
<string id='2501'>{0} seconds<string/>
<string id='2502'>{0} min {1}<string/>

< !-- Credit: 10.00 EUR (10:00:00) -->
<string id='2503'>{0}: {1} ({2})<string/>

< !-- Duration: 10:00:00 -->
<string id='2504'>{0}: {1}<string/>
<string id='2505'>Credit<string/>
<string id='2506'>Amount Due<string/>
<string id='2507'>Remaining Time<string/>
<string id='2508'>Duration<string/>

For some URLs, the status bar will display a description rather than the zone name. These URLs include system documents, the Start Page, sponsored sites, free sites, and non-defined sites (default).
You can adjust the descriptions of these URLs to your requirements in the corresponding language file, i.e. in this case, the english.xml file.

<string id='2500'>System document<string/>
<string id='2501'>Home page<string/>
<string id='2502'>Standard<string/>
<string id='2503'>free of charge<string/>
<string id='2504'>sponsored<string/>
<string id='2505'>{0} / hour<string/>
<string id='2506'>Application<string/>
< !-- /SiteKiosk Specific! -- >

2. Currency
Even if a device supports several currencies, all payment processes will be displayed in one currency (main currency) only. Also, the statistics about the transactions on your terminal will only be evaluated in the main currency.

Note:
The payment module will automatically read the currency set by the operating system as well as the currency format and the decimal places.

You can make adjustments to these settings.
2.1 Currency symbol
Select the currency symbol that is suitable for your purposes.

Note:
In case your currency (symbol) is not listed, you can simply type it into the corresponding field.
Just click in the field CURRENCY SYMBOL and enter the required symbol. You will see the result immediately in the example window.
2.2 ISO currency code
Use this section to set the ISO currency code for the currency display in SiteKiosk.

Note:
If the currency code is not included on the list, you can simply type it into the corresponding field.
Just click in the field ISO CURRENCY CODE and enter the required symbol. You will see the result immediately in the example window. For a list of available currency codes, click here.
2.3 Decimal places
The default number of decimal places used by SiteKiosk is 2. If necessary, you can adjust this number here.
2.4 Currency format
Determines if the currency symbol is supposed to be displayed in front of or following the amount.

2.5 Example
An example showing how the selected currency options will be displayed.

2.6 Default
A press on the default button will reset all currency settings to their original values.

3. Administration mode
For more detailed information on how service personnel can use the administration mode, refer to this page of the help file.

4. Settings
By default, the current credit balance is stored in the file: $(sitekiosk)\sitecash\SiteCash_AccMoney.dat. The advantage of this procedure is that any remaining credit will be re-credited and, thus, be available again in case of an unexpected reboot of the machine (error/power outage/etc).

Note:
If you employ a hard drive protection software such as Hdd Sheriff, Win Rollback, Deepfreeze, Illusion, HD Guard, or Driveshield, you should save this file to an additional, unprotected partition. Otherwise, the content of this file will be reset when the computer reboots.

5. Receipt
5.1 Offer receipt of deposit
Receipts can be printed or sent by email.

To print receipts (receipt by printer), select the desired printer from the drop-down list. If you disable the option Allow printing only for receipts, users will also be able to use the printer for regular printing in SiteKiosk.
Activating receipt printing will also automatically enable the printer monitoring feature of SiteKiosk.

Before sending a receipt by email, make sure that you configured the SiteKiosk email settings accordingly.

You can edit the receipt template by pressing the corresponding button. The contents of the text fields for merchant name, phone number and tax ID are added to the receipt.

A receipt can be created either after each deposit or at the end of a session.

5.2 Macro variables
The receipt template uses macro variables to populate the receipt with information about the merchant name, phone number and tax ID.

Finish by choosing whether you wish to offer a receipt after every deposit or offer a receipt once at the end of the session.
